The Quality Challenge seniors tennis event will not return to Newport Beach this year.

The tournament, which features players such as Jimmy Connors, John McEnroe, Bjorn Borg and Mats Wilander and drew about 15,000 to the Palisades Tennis Club last summer, will be held June 17-20 at Rancho Bernardo Inn in San Diego.

“We wanted to return to Newport Beach,” said Henry Brehm, the event’s executive producer, “but the Palisades Club declined due to a scheduling conflict and we were not able to secure a suitable site in the area.”
