Children who stretch their legs in the 1K and 5K Walk for Technology next month will be contributing to their future computer skills as well: The city will rebate $2 of each child’s $10 entry fee to the schools for a technology fund.

All schools are registering students for the walks, which will be part of the 19th annual City of Los Alamitos 10K and 5K Run on Feb. 27. The races begin at Oak School at 10821 Oak St. The kids’ 1K Fun Run starts at 9 a.m.; the 5K Parade of Walkers, which is also open to adults, leaves at 8:05 a.m. Information: (562) 430-1073 or on the Web at https://www.ci.los-alamitos.ca.us.
