Reed Making Effort at Line

Share

The encouraging early showing at the foul line by Travis Reed, who spent countless hours practicing free throws during the off-season, has given way to all-too-familiar results.

The reserve forward, who made 33.3% of his free throws last season, began his sophomore season by making 11 of 14.

In recognition of the great strides, Coach Steve Lavin even picked Reed to shoot a free throw after a technical foul.

But Reed has missed all seven attempts since then and is down to 46.7% for the season.

“It’s the same shot I’ve been shooting all year,” he said. “But I’m not worried about it. I’ve just got to go back to the gym and keep working hard.

“I’ll get back there. I’m not worried about it.”

Coming up: Sunday at Washington, Feb. 4 vs. Oregon.
