Many thanks to Victor Merina for his profile of my brother, the late Sherman Block, longtime sheriff of Los Angeles County (“Requiem for a Heavyweight,” Dec. 20).
Merina underlined the humanity, humility and courage of my brother, who dedicated his life to the Sheriff’s Department, the people of the county and his family.
