“Post-Impressionist Prints: Paris in the 1890s,” an exhibition of 122 prints chronicling the Paris printmaking boom, opens today at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Representing an important period in the development of printmaking--a period that produced an amazing array of masterpieces--the exhibition will include 22 lithographs by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and 100 prints by Edouard Vuillard, Edgar Degas, Mary Cassatt, Paul Gauguin and others.

Four-part harmony is taking center stage in Anaheim this week as 10,000 singers from around the world gather for the 61st annual convention of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America Inc. Among the public events are a free mass sing today with 7,000 barbershoppers outside the Anaheim Convention Center singing barbershop standards. On Friday, 12 champion quartets will perform at the Anaheim Pond.

With Lollapalooza, H.O.R.D.E., Smokin’ Grooves and other summer staples on hiatus or on the ropes, the Vans Warped Tour has become the longest-running of the traveling rock festivals. Warped, which celebrates the synergy of rock music and extreme sports, stretches its musical range in its fifth year, combining punk (Blink-182), hip-hop (Eminem), ska (bouncing souls) and rock en espanol (Ozomatli is in, but previously scheduled Molotov is off).
