The Festival of the Arts opens its 67th season Sunday by offering free admission. The festival features original work from more than 160 Southern California artists. Special activities for kids include hat making, face painting and balloons.

The main stage will feature live jazz and rock ‘n’ roll in the afternoon. Festival grounds will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Normal hours are 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Monday through Aug. 29; admission is $5, $3 for seniors and students. Information: (949) 494-1145.
