HomeBase Names Feller to Head Investor Relations

* Michele Feller has been named director of investor relations for HomeBase Inc., the Irvine-based chain of home-improvement stores. Most recently, she was a vice president at Pondel & Wilkinson Group, a corporate and investor relations consulting firm in Los Angeles.

In addition, Susan Caumiant was appointed manager of direct marketing, and Jennifer Love was named public relations manager.

Caumiant joined HomeBase in 1992 as photography coordinator. She has been print-production coordinator and credit marketing manager. Before joining HomeBase, she was a photography specialist at Mattel Toys. Love joined the company in 1997 as public relations specialist after working at Orange County’s United Way.

* Michael Piazzola has been named general manager of the Irvine Spectrum Center by Madison Marquette Retail Services. He was senior project manager of retail for Walt Disney World and vice president and general manager for the Rouse Co. Janelle File was selected as director of sales and marketing for the newly expanded center. She had been marketing manager of special events at Fashion Island.

* Glenn E. Abood has joined ZLand.com in Irvine as president and chief operating officer. Abood was vice president and general manager for Cadence Design Systems in San Jose. He also worked for Silicon Valley Research, Zycad Corp. and Raytheon Co.

* Deepak Puri has been appointed to the strategic advisory board of LifeMasters Supported SelfCare Inc. in Newport Beach, an online health-management services company. Puri was director of OEM business development for Netscape.

* Mike Buonauro has been named senior account coordinator for Morgan Marketing & Public Relations in Irvine. He will handle the Wienerschnitzel account.

* David Allison has joined Voit Development Co. as a project administrator for the Newport Beach office. He was real estate portfolio manager of Allison Asset Management Co.

* Nicholas Geber has been appointed director of e-commerce in the creation of an electronic commerce division for First Alliance Corp., a consumer finance company in Irvine. Geber was most recently director of client services for Client-Driven, a division of QuickNet-ICG, Inc. in Newport Beach.

* Jerry W. Oxford is the new chief financial officer of Cal Water in Santa Ana. He was controller at Adco Equipment Inc. in Pico Rivera.

* Mary Griffin has been named Western regional sales manager for Anaheim-based Odetics ITS’ video-based vehicle-detection systems. George M. Spaltro was appointed national sales manager for the new Vantage Edge system for traffic control cabinets. Griffin has been Western region sales manager for Econolite Control Products. Spaltro was most recently regional sales manager for Capital Enterprise & Engineering Corp.

* Terry Pruett has joined Printronix in Irvine as director, thermal product marketing. He was formerly director of marketing for CIE America, where he was responsible for developing and implementing marketing programs for the thermal, laser and line-matrix-printer product lines.

* Derek Cheung has been appointed vice president of research and director of the Rockwell Science Center, the principal research laboratory of Costa Mesa-based Rockwell International Corp. He succeeds Joe Longo, who announced plans to retire early next year after a 31-year career with Rockwell. In addition, Jon Rode was appointed vice president of operations and associate Science Center director. Cheung had been vice president and chief scientist. Rode, who joined the Science Center in 1976, has worked in imaging, materials science and electronic devices.

* Donna Brown-Ambrose has been named staffing manager at Accountemps’ new Laguna Niguel location. She joined the company in 1993 and was most recently a staffing manager in the Carlsbad office.
