Share

Powerwave Technologies Inc., the Irvine supplier of amplifiers used in wireless communications networks, said Tuesday that it has sold off part of a minor product line to VoCom Products Co. for an undisclosed sum.

Financial details of the deal, which closed Friday, were not disclosed. The sale includes product designs and associated assets and liabilities, according to Powerwave officials. VoCom staff could not be reached for comment Tuesday.

Based in Rolling Meadows, Ill., VoCom bought a series of devices used in paging services, which came from Powerwave’s land mobile radio line. According to Powerwave officials, the product line accounted for 1% of the Orange County firm’s sales of $56 million for the first quarter of 1999.
