THE SAFETY ZONE: ACTION LOG
The Times Orange County publishes a daily list of police incident reports provided by local law enforcement agencies. The Times prints items as soon as departments make them available. Because many departments release incident reports only weekly, not every community will be represented in each day’s Action Log. Authorities from the following cities released incident reports Wednesday:
ANAHEIM
* Jefferson Street: A robbery alarm was triggered in the 6000 block at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday.
* Syracuse Avenue: A robbery alarm was triggered in the 8000 block at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday.
BREA
* Mariposa Drive: A petty theft was reported in the 1100 block at 11:21 a.m. Tuesday.
* Saturn Street: A burglary was reported in the 3000 block at 7:13 a.m. Tuesday.
BUENA PARK
* Ball Road: Report of three or four teenagers lighting fireworks in a park in the 6100 block at 11:55 a.m. Monday.
* Valley View Street: Report of a male juvenile driving a motorized scooter recklessly on the street and sidewalk in the 8400 block at 5:13 p.m. Monday.
DANA POINT
* Malga Drive: A robbery alarm was triggered in the 33000 block at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday.
* Santiago Drive: A robbery alarm was triggered in the 33000 block at 8:52 a.m. Tuesday.
FOUNTAIN VALLEY
* Mt. Herrmann Street: Someone smashed a glass door at Orange Coast Pipe & Supply Co. in the 17200 block and stole $5,000 in assorted tools; reported at 11:42 a.m. Monday.
HUNTINGTON BEACH
* Heil Avenue: A caller said a man came out of a bar in the 5000 block and kicked his dog when it barked at 10:48 p.m. Sunday.
IRVINE
* Santa Ana Freeway at Bake Parkway: A car went down an embankment at 10:11 a.m. Wednesday. Minor injuries were reported.
* Andalucia: Jewelry worth $25,000 was reported stolen in the 10 block at 11:48 p.m. Tuesday. The burglar broke in by prying open the rear kitchen window.
* Lake Forest Drive: Fifteen stolen checks were passed by three people at JCPenney Homelife in the 16100 block at 1:33 p.m. Tuesday. The checks were stolen from various victims in San Diego.
LAGUNA BEACH
* Temple Terrace at Temple Place: A Laguna Beach woman was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after police said she hit a parked car and tried to escape on foot Tuesday at 2:02 a.m.
LAGUNA HILLS
* Caminito Andreta: A fireworks violation was reported in the 23000 block at 11:30 a.m. Monday.
* La Plata Drive: Deputies issued a citation for reckless driving at 1:02 p.m. Monday.
LAKE FOREST
* El Perro Street: Report of gunshots in the 23000 block at 11:07 p.m. Tuesday.
* Newbridge Drive: Report of a loud party in the 22000 block at 12:38 a.m. Tuesday.
LA PALMA
* Wesenberg Circle: A woman discovered about 6 p.m. Tuesday that jewelry was missing from her home in the 5000 block.
* Orangethorpe Avenue: A woman in the 5600 block reported receiving several threatening calls from a man who had also knocked on her window Monday.
LOS ALAMITOS
* Katella Avenue: Police recovered a stolen red Porsche and arrested the suspected thieves in the 3200 block at 2:43 a.m. Tuesday.
MISSION VIEJO
* Crown Valley Parkway: Deputies responded to a report of a reckless driver in the 26000 block at 2:13 p.m. Tuesday.
* Via Santa Cruz: Deputies responded to a fireworks violation in the 24000 block at 8:36 p.m. Tuesday.
PLACENTIA
* Cypress Avenue: An abandoned vehicle was reported in the 900 block at 5:15 p.m. Monday.
* Melrose Street: A petty theft was reported in the 1000 block at 10:50 a.m. Monday.
SAN CLEMENTE
* Avenida Fabricante: A suspicious person was reported in the 500 block at 6:14 a.m. Tuesday.
* Avenida Pico: A robbery alarm was triggered in the 700 block at 12:38 a.m. Tuesday.
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO
* Ortega Highway: A robbery alarm was triggered in the 27000 block at 8:05 a.m. Tuesday.
* Camino del Avion: A robbery alarm was triggered in the 25000 block at 8:25 a.m. Tuesday.
SANTA ANA
* Foxrun Road: A person was arrested on suspicion of lighting fireworks in the 10000 block at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday.
SEAL BEACH
* Cottonwood Lane at Welcome Lane: Police found a missing 12-year-old autistic boy shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday.
* Cottonwood Lane: Report of an attempted burglary at 2 p.m. Sunday. Someone pried open a screen window of a residence, but nothing was stolen.
STANTON
* Katella Avenue: A robbery alarm was triggered in the 7000 block at 1:53 p.m. Tuesday.
TUSTIN
* Stevens Drive: Police broke up a loud party in the 12800 block at 2:04 p.m. Sunday.
* Tustin East Drive: A tailgate was reported stolen from a red Nissan pickup in the 13800 block at 12:02 p.m. Sunday.
VILLA PARK
* Churchill Lane: Report of a silent burglary alarm in the 18000 block at 11:27 a.m. Monday.
* Joshua Tree Circle: Report of an audible burglary alarm in the 18000 block at 8:16 p.m. Monday.
* Alice Lane: Report of an audible burglary alarm in the 18000 block at 12:12 p.m. Saturday.
* Oakwood Circle: Report of an audible burglary alarm in the 9000 block at 3:52 p.m. Saturday.
WESTMINSTER
* San Diego Freeway at McFadden Avenue: A man wearing only boxer shorts and possibly under the influence of drugs was seen walking in the southbound lanes of the freeway Wednesday. Police stopped traffic in both directions for several minutes when the man hopped the center divider. He was taken into custody. There were no injuries.
* Weststate Street: A 45-year-old Santa Ana man was arrested in the 4500 block about 5 p.m. Monday on an outstanding warrant.
YORBA LINDA
* Heather Way: Vandalism was reported in the 18000 block at 9:01 a.m. Monday.
* Valley View Avenue: A petty theft was reported in the 4700 block at 12:14 p.m. Monday.
Authorities from the following cities did not release incident reports Wednesday: Costa Mesa, Cypress, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, La Habra, Newport Beach and Orange.
