Bartender Jailed in Drug Probe at Eatery
The bartender at a Moorpark bar and restaurant has been arrested on suspicion of drug sales, authorities said Monday.
Isaias R. Hernandez, 37, was arrested Friday at the El Rodeo Restaurant and Bar at 79 W. High St., said Sgt. Curt Rothschiller of the sheriff’s Narcotics Division.
The Inglewood man was being held at the east county sheriff’s station on $50,000 bail.
Rothschiller said sheriff’s deputies launched the investigation into activities at the bar after receiving information that narcotics sales were taking place inside.
Undercover agents purchased cocaine from Hernandez on more than one occasion, he said.
Antonia Ochoa, 35, the co-owner of the bar, was also taken into custody on suspicion of possessing a concealed handgun, Rothschiller said.
Ochoa, who lives in the 400 block of Millard Street in Moorpark, posted $20,000 bail.
She has not been linked to the narcotics sales, Rothschiller said.
