Sayer Hired at Marriott in Dana Point

* Traci Atwood Sayer has been named senior sales manager for the Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort in Dana Point. She was previously regional director of sales for the International Assn. of Convention & Visitors Bureaus. Lois J. Stevens was appointed director of catering operations. She was formerly banquet manager for the Trumbull Marriott Hotel in Connecticut and banquet manager for the La Jolla Marriott Hotel.

* William A. Furlow has been elected president of the Assn. of Professional Consultants for 1999-2000. Furlow, principal of Furlow Corporate Communications in Tustin, specializes in crisis communications consulting and news media relations training.

* Peter Townend has been named global brand manager for Rusty Apparel, an Irvine surfwear company. Succeeding him as marketing director is Bill Holford, who had been director of sales and marketing for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.

* Mike Toomey has joined Cruttenden Roth Inc. in Newport Beach as a principal in the Corporate Finance Group. Toomey comes to Cruttenden Roth from Imperial Bank, where he was senior vice president and manager of the Beverly Hills Commercial Banking Group.

* John B. Evans has joined Costa Mesa-based ARV Assisted Living Inc. as vice president, operations for the Northern California region. Evans was previously regional vice president of operations for Mariner Post Acute Network in Hayward.
