American Airlines will begin two daily nonstops from Long Beach Airport to Chicago on Sept. 8, with 14-day advance purchase round-trip fares starting at $248. (America West flies to Chicago from Long Beach with a stop in Phoenix.). . . . LanChile Airlines has begun the only nonstop flights between LAX and Santiago, Chile. They’re offered three times a week. Round-trip advance purchase fares begin at $700. On Aug. 1, LanChile also becomes totally smoke-free.
