Honda Recalling 21,200 Minivans for Door Latches
Bloomberg
Honda Motor Co., the fifth-largest auto maker in the U.S., is recalling about 21,200 of its 1999 Odyssey minivans to fix latches on the sliding side doors that may not lock.
The doors may not fully close and lock, triggering the “door open” warning light on the dashboard.
Owners have already been notified by mail to have the door latches fixed at no charge. No injuries have occurred because of the problem, spokeswoman Lynda Sakamaki-Smith said.
Auto makers usually pay for such repairs out of warranty reserves.
Honda’s U.S. operations are based in Torrance, Calif.
