Tescher loved to be outside, according to her son Elwood.

“It was her great passion to collect rocks, exhibit them, and go out on treks through the desert,” he said, adding that she enjoyed driving to the desert with friends and did so until she turned 80.

She moved to Camarillo about five years ago, living first at the Mar Vista apartments and then at the Heritage House.

Tescher was preceded in death by her husband in 1950.

She is survived by her only child, Elwood of Newbury Park.

Tescher’s funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pierce Bros. Valley Oaks Chapel in Westlake Village. Father Stan Harris will officiate. Burial will follow at Valley Oaks Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Pierce Bros.
