* Update--The Dodgers swept the Diamondbacks in a season-opening series at Dodger Stadium and escaped being swept in a four-game series at Phoenix by winning the series finale on April 15. Perez is still trying to find the form that helped him make 22 quality starts in 1998. This season, he has only two. Perez faced the Diamondbacks on April 14 and gave up six runs and 11 hits in 6 2/3 innings of a 6-2 loss. Last Sunday, he gave up four runs and seven hits in six innings in a 7-5 loss at Pittsburgh but was not involved in the decision.
