Bush and Gore

Much has been made of the fund-raising gap between Gov. George W. Bush and Vice President Al Gore. But I also noted that during the first six months of this year, Bush spent $712,177 for chartering airplanes, while Gore reimbursed the government merely to the tune of $187,634 for his travels.
Undoubtedly Gore has campaigned as much, if not more, than Bush, but apparently at a much lower cost. It also seems that the taxpayers are footing someone’s campaign-plane bills and it isn’t for the governor from Texas.
