Xircom Reports Record Sales for 3rd Quarter

Xircom reported record net sales for the third quarter, which ended June 30, of $103.1 million. This marked a 45% increase compared with the $71.3 million for the same period last year, and a 6% increase compared with the $97.7 million for the prior quarter.

Net income for the year to date was $12.1 million, compared with $4.7 million for the same period last year.

Net sales for the first nine months of the fiscal year totaled $296.8 million, compared with the $188 million reported last year. Net income was $32.7 million, compared with $10.4 million last year.

“The increasing demand for mobile connectivity products contributed to a strong third quarter across the entire business,” said Dirk Gates, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Xircom.

The Thousand Oaks-based company makes products to connect portable computer users to corporate networks, the Internet and other online resources.
