Koplin Named President, COO of Apparel Ventures

* Lynne Koplin has been named president and chief operating officer of Apparel Ventures Inc., a swimwear manufacturer based in Gardena that sews for Ocean Pacific, Nautica and other labels. Koplin, who was formerly a senior vice president of design and merchandising at Authentic Fitness Corp., will oversee design, merchandising, marketing and sales for Apparel Ventures.

* Alhambra-based Propertyfirst.com Inc., which provides an online service for the commercial real estate industry, has named Tom Sanchez senior vice president and chief technology officer. Sanchez is the founder of software development company Real USA.

* PeopleLink, a Santa Monica-based provider of community communications services for the Internet, has named Frank R. Greico chief operating officer and chief financial officer. He previously served as senior vice president of worldwide operations and chief financial officer of software firm Quarterdeck Corp. in Marina del Rey.

* The government of Israel has appointed Yifat Baron consul for economic affairs for the southwestern United States. Based in Los Angeles, she will be responsible for increasing trade and investment between Israel, Southern California and seven other states in the region. Baron at one time served as an economic advisor to former Israeli Industry and Trade Minister Natan Sharansky.
