ORANGE COUNTY EARNINGS

Sync Research Inc.: The Irvine maker of computer networking devices reported a net loss of $1.3 million, or 37 cents a share, for the second quarter, compared with a net loss of $3 million, or 85 cents a share, for the prior-year second quarter. Revenue declined 38% to $4.4 million. The company said it is cutting operating costs by moving next month into a smaller facility and downsizing its Norton, Mass., facility by 50%.
