ORANGE COUNTY EARNINGS

Sicor Inc.: The Irvine pharmaceutical company said net income totaled $501,000, or 1 cent a share, which included charges of $1.8 million related to the divestiture of its interest in Metabasis Therapeutics Inc. A net loss of $2.5 million, or 3 cents a share, was reported for the 1998 second quarter. Sales gained 14% to $54.7 million from $48 million.
