City officials reviewed the proposed 1999-2000 budget Tuesday night and reported a balanced budget. City Manager Terry Matz said a majority of the $10.5-million general fund will continue to pay for police and fire services, although those costs have steadily increased. The city will also continue to develop strong community-based programs. The proposed budget is scheduled for a public hearing June 22, Matz said.
