Gray Days

The gloomy weather typical of this time of year occurs when cold, moist onshore breezes meet with warmer air on land. Moisture in the cool air condenses and forms a lingering cloud cap that pushes the warmer air aloft. At other times of the year, the ocean breezes and air on the land are closer in temperature and no “cap” is formed.
