ORANGE
The Orange Unified School District has found that 63% of students enrolled in second-year English immersion instruction have advanced in fluency to an intermediate or advanced level or have been designated as English fluent. The figures were included in a progress report for the 1998-99 school year. The district currently has over 5,000 limited-English-speaking students. A full-year evaluation of the immersion program is expected in August.
