Liberty’s Lobo Out for Season

NEW YORK —
New York Liberty star Rebecca Lobo will miss the remainder of the WNBA season because of a torn knee ligament that will require surgery.
“I’m terribly disappointed that this happened,” Lobo said Friday at Beth Israel Hospital, where she was undergoing therapy.
Lobo tore the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee in the first minute of the team’s season opener Thursday night. Team physician Susan Craig-Scott said rehabilitation will take a minimum of six months.
