Fountain Valley School District trustees asked staff last week to consider hiring a parking and traffic circulation consultant to design a plan for improving school safety. Two schools in particular--Cox and Courreges elementary schools--have congestion problems during arrival and dismissal times. One proposed solution calls for both schools to restrict their existing parking areas to staff parking and bus loading and unloading, and to build second parking areas for use by students and parents. District staff will report back July 8.
