** 1/2 Natalie Cole, “Snowfall on the Sahara,” Elektra. Cole tackles several musical genres on this album, with varying results. Her treatment of Taj Mahal’s “Corinna” lacks the Southern-fried funk of the original, but on Michel Legrand’s “His Eyes, Her Eyes” Cole successfully evokes the jazzy-cool elegance of the late Carmen McRae. She also does a credible turn on Bob Dylan’s gospel-fired “Gotta Serve Somebody.”
