At a budget workshop Wednesday, residents urged City Council members to support expansion of the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center and improvements to the Marguerite Aquatics Complex. They also asked that more money be allotted for expansion of the Montanoso Recreation Center and amenities for other recreation buildings.
Just how the city will deal with increasing maintenance costs on the aging recreation centers is the task facing a special council subcommittee, which last week recommended conducting a public survey on the issue. The results of the poll, intended to gauge residents’ views about how the city is managing recreation centers and programs, should be in next month.
The budget--which totals $84.7 million--is scheduled to be adopted at the council’s meeting at 6 p.m. Monday in City Hall, 25909 Pala.
