A state appellate court recently ruled against the city for its refusal to consider development plans during its yearlong building moratorium. The Building Industry Assn. sued the city for enacting the moratorium, which put a halt to residential developments with more than 50 homes or commercial developments of more than 10 acres. The City Council in May had extended the moratorium for another year while the city updates its General Plan. Although the ruling upholds the actual building freeze, the city must now begin processing development plans. The council and the Planning Commission will meet June 29 to further review the General Plan update. Information: (949) 493-1171.
