A memorial service will be held today for a cyclist killed when he and four others were struck by a 17-year-old driver.

Services for Mehran Delavari, 35, will be held at 6 p.m. at Shomreh Torah Synagogue, 7353 Valley Circle, West Hills.

Delavari, who leaves a wife, Ilanit, 31, a 2-year-old daughter, Samantha, and a 4-month-old son, Riley, was a researcher at Amgen Inc. based in Thousand Oaks.

Delavari, an avid biker, was changing a flat tire on a Westlake Village sidewalk June 12 when a pickup truck plowed into his group.

The teenage truck driver, Jordan Lampos of Westlake Village, told police he was distracted at the time. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is expected to ask the district attorney’s office to file misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter charges against Lampos, said Deputy Robert Evans of the Malibu/Lost Hills sheriff’s station.

“There was no intent here,” Evans said. “There was just a mistake.”

Two of the cyclists remain hospitalized. Zachary Winner, 33, who suffered injuries including fractures to his pelvis, clavicle and ribs, is recovering at UCLA Medical Center.

Brian Zrehigian, 40, of Sherman Oaks, who suffered three spinal fractures and a bruised kidney, is recovering at Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks. Zrehigian is wearing a back brace and able to walk around, said hospital spokeswoman Kris Carraway-Bowman. George Riccirdi, 43, of Canoga Park and Stanislav Ianov, 40, of Calabasas were treated for minor injuries.
