* Reader’s Digest Assn. said it will develop a health information Web site with WebMD Inc., whose Internet expertise will allow the publisher to quickly establish an online presence. Reader’s Digest also said it invested $13 million in WebMD. The new site will feature health-care articles, products and services and a question-and-answer column run by WebMD.

* General Electric Co. said it acquired a stake in online educator HealthStream Inc. as part of a plan to begin an online health education program with 2,600 hospitals. GE did not say how much of a stake it acquired. HealthStream will provide access to its continuing education library, programs and other materials for the Web sites of GE’s Medical Systems unit beginning later this year.
