Medics Treat 2 Teens After Grad Party

Two teenagers, one of who may have suffered ill effects from alcohol and marijuana, were treated by paramedics early Wednesday after an all-night grad party at Capistrano Valley High School in Mission Viejo, authorities said.

One of them, a 17-year-old boy, was taken to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo, where he was treated in the emergency room and released to his parents. “It appears that he may have had some sort of reaction to alcohol and/or drugs,” said Lt. Ron White, a spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

The other teen, a 16-year-old girl, complained of feeling ill after drinking some water. “There was some concern that someone may have put something in her drink,” White said.

Sheriff’s deputies, who were called to the scene about 4:25 a.m., are not investigating the incident as a crime, White said. “We’re treating it as medical aid.”
