Numerous Ventura County groups have been awarded a total of nearly $1.3 million aimed at improving elderly services.
The money, granted under the Older Americans Act, will go to more than a dozen private and public groups that provide meal programs, transportation services, adult day care, senior case management and legal services throughout the county.
The county’s Human Service Agency will receive the heftiest portion, nearly $775,000, to pay for meal programs.
The Ventura County Area Agency of Aging administers the state and federal funds. The agency’s mission is to improve the well-being of aging adults.
