Xircom Sues, Claiming False Information on Internet

Xircom Inc. in Thousand Oaks has filed a lawsuit in Ventura County Superior Court to identify and recover damages from an anonymous individual claiming to be an employee who has posted several messages on Internet stock message boards.

Xircom contends that the information posted in the chat room was unlawful because the statements contained false information about Xircom and its products.

Xircom manufactures PC cards and other products to connect portable computer users to corporate networks, the Internet and other online resources. The company’s products are sold and supported in 100 countries through a network of distributors, integrators and resellers.
