Police arrested a Santa Ana man at the Wild Rivers Waterpark on suspicion of sexual battery involving two teenage girls. The incidents occurred in one of two large tanks that create ocean-like waves at the pool, Sgt. Rick Handfield said. Park security detained the suspect, Abel Ramirez, 21, after two 14-year-olds said he had improperly touched their buttocks on the outside of their swimsuits, police said. Ramirez is suspected of committing the same act against other young women who haven’t yet come forward, Handfield added.
An aquatics supervisor witnessed the incident and notified park security, said Greg Briggs, the park’s general manager. Park security had the suspect in custody in less than a minute, he added.
