MISSION VIEJO
Keyser Marston Associates will be considered tonight by the City Council to conduct an analysis of a staff proposal to build a new City Hall. With the city’s $400,000 annual lease of office space expiring in 2001, officials developed a report recommending the construction of a City Hall next to Mission Viejo Library. Alternatives included in the staff report were to continue leasing space in the Pala Building or buy it for about $10 million.
In January, the council approved $15,000 to hire a consultant to provide an independent analysis of the proposal. Residents voted against a City Hall proposal in 1992; an advisory vote would be required if the council decides to pursue the issue again. The council meets in chambers at 6 p.m., 25909 Pala. Information: (949) 470-3000.
