* Miriam Claire Beezy has left Walt Disney Co. to become a partner at Mitchell, Silverberg & Knupp LLP, a West Los Angeles firm specializing in intellectual property law. Beezy was senior trademark counsel at Disney. Deborah P. Knoeffler, managing partner at the law firm, announced the appointment, praising Beezy as “one of the top trademark experts in the country.”

Beezy lives in Tarzana and is a graduate of Southwestern Law School, Los Angeles.

* John DeGrinis has been installed as the 31st president of the American Industrial Real Estate Assn. (AIR), a nonprofit corporation headquartered in Los Angeles, best known for establishing the Multiple Listing Service.

Among the new AIR officers are Ross W. Thompson of Delphi Business Properties, Van Nuys, and Clifford M. Reston, Real Property Advisors, Encino.

DeGrinis is vice president and principal of the Seeley Co.’s office in Encino. He holds a degree in business administration from the University of Denver.

* James M. Burgess of Sherman Oaks has been made a partner in the Los Angeles law firm of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton. Burgess handles a wide range of commercial litigation. He is a member of the Assn. of Business Trial Lawyers and holds a law degree from the USC Law Center.

* United Golf Products Inc. of Chatsworth on Monday named Richard J. Parent as chief executive officer. Parent has been the company’s chief operating officer and chief financial officer since February 1998. Warren Levy, the company’s former chief executive officer, will remain as the company’s chairman. United Golf designs, makes and distributes golf equipment sold under the Rawlings Sporting Goods name.
