At its midyear budget review this week, the City Council approved about a 10% increase in the city’s 1998-99 general fund budget. Staff informed the council that $2.3 million would be transferred from unappropriated reserves to the seven-year capital improvement program and a park development fund. An additional $693,000 has been earmarked for a variety of other purposes.
