Jarrett’s Ailment

Share

Don Heckman’s article about Keith Jarrett is one of the best descriptions of the ravages that chronic fatigue syndrome can inflict upon the lives of those it impacts (“A Ferocious Spirit, Untamed,” Feb. 23). As he pointed out, there is nothing trivial about this disease except the rather minimalizing name of it. Hundreds of thousands of men, women and children around the world are suffering its life-disrupting effects.

We hope that others will read it and finally have some understanding of what these people live with. This especially applies to the medical community, which still does not fully believe that this is a real entity that deserves full attention, and that its victims suffer real pain and despair.
