Chuck Finley felt a little stiffness in his back after throwing off the mound Thursday and was scratched from today’s scheduled Cactus League start against Oakland. Omar Olivares will start today, and Collins said Finley will probably pitch Sunday. . . . Vaughn caught a little flak from some fans when he didn’t run hard to first on a grounder that was bobbled, but Collins, who yanked Garret Anderson from a game last summer for not hustling, didn’t mind. “The baselines are real soft, I don’t need him blowing out a hamstring,” he said. Added Vaughn: “I’m not trying to make the team, I’m not going to pull anything. My legs haven’t been feeling that great, the ground is soft, and you don’t want to get hurt here. Come game time, everything will be different.” . . . Phil Nevin homered, Orlando Palmeiro had three hits, and Jeff Huson and Tim Unroe each had three RBIs in a split-squad game against San Diego Friday morning.
