But the team’s hot player is guard Stacy Krueger, who shot 66.7% from the floor at the MCC tournament, 55.6% from three-point range. The coach, in his first season, is Kevin Borseth.
* UCLA at a glance: Kathy Olivier’s Bruins have registered back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since the 1970s and bring a deep, talented team to the tournament that has had inconsistent performances. UCLA’s high points were an 86-68 victory over fifth-ranked North Carolina and an 87-84 win at Stanford. But the Bruins have lost twice since Feb. 12, at home to Stanford and at Washington. Martin is the Pacific 10 player of the year.
