Net Income Falls 14% at Barbeques Galore

Barbeques Galore Ltd.: The Irvine specialty retail chain posted net income of $2.4 million, or 53 cents a share, for the fourth fiscal quarter, down 14% from $2.8 million, or 63 cents a share, a year ago. Sales for the quarter ended Jan. 31 rose 8% to $47.5 million from $43.9 million. For the year, net income dropped 6% to $3.2 million, or 71 cents a share, from $3.4 million, or 75 cents a share, for the previous year. Sales were up 7% to $140.3 million from $131.3 million.
