Mom Shoots Daughter for Nursing Home Talk

ORLANDO, Fla. —
A 67-year-old woman who is blind in one eye and has emphysema shot and critically wounded her daughter after overhearing talk of putting her in a nursing home, investigators say.
Shirley Ann Egan also allegedly tried to shoot her daughter’s boyfriend Monday, and was charged with two counts of attempted murder.
The daughter, Georgette Smith, 42, was shot in the head.
