In another Westside tournament game:
Channel Islands 5, Alemany 4--Joe Garcia hit a leadoff home run in the seventh inning to lift the Raiders (1-2) at Channel Islands.
Junior right-hander Cesar Esqueda, winning in his varsity debut, pitched a seven-hitter and struck out 11.
In the San Fernando Valley tournament:
Thousand Oaks 6, El Camino Real 5--Phil Simonetti hit a two-out, run-scoring single in the seventh inning to lift the Lancers (2-1) at Thousand Oaks.
Simonetti (1-0) pitched two hitless innings in relief of Tracy Goebel, striking out two.
Scott Gilmore had a two-run double for El Camino Real (2-1).
In the El Segundo tournament:
Crespi 4, Lynwood 3--Sophomore Jonathan Oller scored on a wild pitch with none out in the bottom of the eighth for the Celts (3-0) in a quarterfinal at Valley College.
Oller led off the inning with a pinch double and went to third on a single by Matt Wilson.
Brian Horwitz of Crespi led off the fifth with a home run to tie the score, 2-2, and he tripled in the first.
