Wood Feels ‘Significant Discomfort’

A day after his 1999 debut, Kerry Wood woke up with a sore elbow Sunday and headed back to Chicago for an examination. Wood threw 26 pitches Saturday against the Angels, just 10 for strikes. He didn’t strike out anyone. Cub General Manager Ed Lynch said Wood “felt significant discomfort” Saturday. . . . The Baltimore Orioles and Cuba’s national team will play a return game at Camden Yards on May 3 to complete their historic home-and-home exhibition series. Cuba already had agreed to have the Orioles play in Havana on March 28, the first time in 40 years a major league team will play in Cuba.
