Track

Campbell, only a week away from finishing his first season with the Titan basketball team, won the high jump and was fifth in the long jump Saturday at the Ben Brown Invitational track meet hosted by the Titans. A freshman, Campbell cleared 6 feet 8 3/4 inches in the high jump. Campbell high jumped 7-1 as a senior at Cardinal Ritter High in St. Louis last year.

THIS WEEK

Baseball: The Titans will play Arizona State at 7 tonight at Titan Field, then resume Big West Conference play at Sacramento State Friday through Sunday. The Titans (17-5) opened conference play last weekend against New Mexico State, sweeping the three-game series behind strong pitching from Adam Johnson, Jon Smith and Matt Sorensen.

Softball: The Titans host the Kia Klassic, which attracts some of the nation’s top softball teams, Wednesday through Sunday at the Titan softball complex. Fullerton (13-9) plays Liberty University at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Utah at 7 p.m. Thursday and Arizona State at 3 p.m. Friday in pool play. The championship round begins at 5 p.m. Friday and continues through Sunday. Four of the teams ranked among the top five nationally-- Arizona (2), Fresno State (3), Washington (4) and Oklahoma (5)--are in the tournament.

Men’s and women’s track: Fullerton will compete at Fresno State Saturday. Missouri and Cal State Northridge also are entered.

Wrestling: Three Titans will compete in the NCAA Championships at Penn State Thursday through Saturday. Joey Coughran (141 pounds), Jason Webster (174) and Babak Nejadmaghaddam (197) are entered. Coughran finished eighth at 126 pounds last season.

Women’s tennis: The Titans (6-6) face Hawaii Pacific at 2 today, Princeton at 1 p.m. Friday and Hawaii at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Women’s gymnastics: Fullerton closes the regular season against San Jose State at 7 p.m. Saturday at Titan Gym.
