Ticket prices for the 2000 Summer Olympics Sept. 15-Oct. 1 in Sydney, Australia, were announced last week and hotel-ticket packages went on sale through Cartan Tours in Manhattan Beach, the authorized U.S. travel agent for the Games. Until last week, you could only put deposits down to reserve packages, at undetermined prices. Tickets are $8 to more than $1,000. Tel. (310) 546-9662. . . . “The Nature of Diamonds” exhibit, with the world’s third-largest cut diamond and jewels owned by everyone from the Russian court to Joan Crawford, runs next Saturday to Sept. 7 at the San Diego Natural History Museum. Tel. (619) 232-3821. . . . One of the world’s truly loony events occurs next weekend in Greenland: The Drambuie World Ice Golf Championship. Irish pro Ronan Rafferty will be among 36 players whacking a green ball across icebergs. Alas, the Greenland Tourism board tells us that flights to Uummannaq are now fully booked. Next year?
