The Parks and Recreation Commission made a patriotic--and pragmatic--decision last week to hold the city’s July 4 parade on July 5. Commissioners thought that since most people would take that Monday off from work as the holiday observance, it would be a better day to hold the event rather than the actual Sunday holiday. The Independence Day Parade festivities will also include a 5-K run/walk and musical performances. Information: (949) 461-3400.
