IRVINE

U.S. News & World Report has named three UC Irvine graduate schools among the top 50 in the nation. The organic chemistry school placed ninth, up from 10th last year. The Graduate School of Management ranked 34, up nine spots from last year. And the engineering program moved up one to No. 48. The magazine bases its rankings on, among other factors, the quality of the faculty and graduate students, the curriculum and the reputation for scholarship.
