The City Council last week approved an amendment to capital-improvement spending. Members chose to spend the $126,280 designated for city-initiated projects on field improvements at George White Elementary School, instead of on the Golden Lantern street-widening venture. The recommendation will be incorporated into the block grant spending plan and made available for public review for 30 days before final consideration by the council on May 4.
