ORANGE COUNTY EARNINGS

MAI Systems Corp.: The Irvine provider of information systems and services said net income for the fourth quarter totaled $1.2 million, or 11 cents a share, compared with a year-earlier net loss of $4.5 million, or 47 cents a share. Revenue rose slightly to $18.2 million from $18.1 million. The company posted a net loss of $2.3 million, or 23 cents a share, for the year, compared with a net loss of $10.2 million, or $1.08 a share, for 1997. Revenue dropped 12% to $62.2 million, from $71 million.
